Hello,

I have three adult female Deroplatys lobata. They had their final molt about 3-4 weeks ago. If I buy some L3 nymphs now,  will my females still be alive and able to breed by the time the new nymphs mature (hopefully some will be male)?

Thank you!

Assuming your females all survive long enough for the L3 males to mature (+ species specific waiting period), some males which have been pushed to the limit (by heat/feeding) become infertile. Perhaps it would be a good idea to try to locate an adult while you work on getting your L3s fired up.

I agree with @Synapze. It might be easier finding an adult male.

I will say if you're thinking about purchasing nymphs, just do it because the longer you wait, the older your females become. I have a female Hierodula become an adult in mid July and bought an L5 male on September 21st and pretty exactly 2 months later he is an adult. She is still kicking and pretty happy, but it was a risk and we'll see if I can mate them soon.

I know this is an older post, but I am curious on an update.
