My vinegaroon and my ant colonies kind of gave up on cirkcets and mealworms amd just sheig them off for some reason so I decided to get some of these. However, I have heard that exotic roaches(with the exception of G. Portentosa) were illegal to import so that made me stop dead in my tracks. I have also heard that these roaches are becoming naturalized in the U.S. I do not want to harm the environment in any way and I do not want to break any laws so I was wondering if it was legal to order them online and have them shipped to me.

It is technically illegal to possess this species without a PPQ 526 permit. I do not know of any sellers that have the proper permits to sell Blatta lateralis. There seem to be naturalized populations of this roach in the western states, and starting a colony from wild-caught roaches is legal as long as you do not transport any individuals across state lines. I am currently in the process of getting the permit for this species, and they should be easy to obtain.
