UV and Mantids

UV light obviously isn't essential for mantids, but has anyone heard of any scientific reports on the effects with UV on mantids. I'd like to know if its beneficial or affects the exoskeletan or growth rates.

A lot of animals act differently if they are exposed to "natural" UV... maybe it will make yer mantids more "frisky"?

My iggy would act VERY VERY different after he got some sun.

How do you mean about your Iggy?

I just wondered if UV levels and photoperiods would affect a mantids body clock, say for example, 12 hours a day would indicate that it is summer and not quite time to mate yet.

I dunno, i just like to think how we can use different aspects of mantid keeping to our advantage.

My Iguana would act more animated and aggressive after being exposed to the sun. "aggressive" may be too strong a word, he never bit me or tail-whipped me, he just was less "passive" after a sunbath.

I know very little about the mating behavior of mantids.
