So awesome! I loved these photos before when you showed them in the chat room, and live them even still looking at them again. Does this species guard their Ooths for a period of time? Do any mantids guard their Ooths? I'm super curious now lol I need answers!!!

i wanted to do a post showing each instar. im not sure if they really guard it or if this was just coincidental. but the heat lamp WAS on the opposite side of the container and she usually gravitates toward heat/light, not shade. so i found it interesting that she chose the dark side where her ootheca was. and the fact that she was engirely over it, even resting a foot on it, i found interesting. so perhaps she was guarding it but im not entirely positive!

If only they could talk haha, She is quite beautiful. I'll admit im jealous.
yes ive never had a mantid that molted this much before! 9 molts. for the females anyways, the males had just 8 molts.
i know right i wish i could ask them a bunch of questions thatd be awesome LOL
you will have your own mantids soon enough!
she is beautiful though. i had named her vegrandis which is latin for tiny and she turned out to be my biggest parasphendale agrionina which is funny to me
