I live on Long Island and I've heard they can survive here. I want to buy some ootheca and release the nymphs, any way I can buy them close to june when they would normally hatch here?
In my area in between houses we have all shrubs that mantids thrive in, plus an area with open fields near woods with tall grass and shrubs.
I use zip ties (like you use to hold wires together) to attach the ootheca to shrubs. Hence why I need the ootheca on branches/twigs.
I'm looking for stock from at least two members for genetic diversity, two ootheca from each.
I can't seem to find reliable source online. Ebay seems to have but I'm unsure if shipped from a warm state then put outside in the snow if they will be ok?
