What happened to the Stenophylla Lobivertex?

The species was briefly offered on a few websites and (understandably so) sold out almost immediately. Are they going to be further circulated in the hobby? Were any breeders successful? I just want to know if there is ever even the possibility of owning a beautiful species like that. I didn't feel like a classified would really be fitting given how stupid rare the species is.

I have a feeling that the same thing that happened with many other sp occurred- inexperienced hobbyists snatched them up before any breeders could establish secure breeding groups

I see them occasionally on Instagram. Most keepers are still refusing to sell them to anyone outside of their network.They are very hard to keep successfully, and considering the value, too valuable for the inexperienced. The prices I've seen are ridiculous... up to $1000. I've been told that it may be years before they are widely available. They're outside of my self-imposed mantis budget, so you'll never see one of them in my collection.

Maybe. However, given they are Peruvian, I bet this one is unrelated to those brought into the US hobby, given the species is endemic to SA in the first place. Could even have been caught by the individual themselves.

Lobivertex has been observed just across the Peruvian border into Ecuador (iNaturalist). That is likely the source of NA hobby specimens and lines.

I have several FB pals from Peru (and this may be one of the guys, I just cant remember) and I have been offered this and a few other SA species.

They'll eventually get to the US. From what I've been told (not from this breeder), this species will be in the US later in the year.
