Looks like the ooths you see around here that are very old. THey turn very dark colored.

sadly it probably is dried up or infertile and you should ask the person you bought it from about it and maybe he will give you a replacement or something!

hmm i asked hot.stuff off UKMF and she said that Pseudocreobotra Ocellata ooths look like that and its a sign its gonna hatch when it goes black

well if it hatches then alls good then!

can 1st instar nymphs feed on d.hydei fruit flies? i got told they could a few weeks back and then i just got told they will die and need small fruit flies

possibly if they are anything like the creobroter nymphs in size they should be able to handle both the large and small but it may be trial and error to see which size flies the nymphs would really go after!

there may be a slim chance that is not a ooth even at all but if anything hatches then theres nothing to worry about!

You never know it might hatch think about all the different species and the different ooths that the different species have so you just gotta wait a month and if it hatches then you can jump up and down if not just let the person know who sold it to you but it does look a little old and burned but i wish you the best of luck and the pictures that massa man put up does look alot different hopefully it will hatch..

If its from Hot.Stuff trust it, It could be the females first one and it could just be a bit sloppy. Ocellata is the smaller species of Pseudocreobotra, I would recommend feeding them mels.
