I'm sure this video has been discussed before, but I couldn't find where and I must know what this is and how this happens.

Thoughts?

 
Horsehair worms are common parasites of things like mantids and orthopterans. Under natural conditions the worms would change the behavior of their hosts and cause them to seek water.
Once water is encountered, the worms burst out of their hosts. It's common to see insects such as Jerusalem Crickets drowned around here with horsehair worms swimming around nearby.
Xenomorphs, anyone? :D
