What's your favorite mantis

Hi everybody!

I just was wondering what everybody's favorite mantis is.

Mine is a european which seems weird considering there are all the exotics around. But the reason is that my first mantis was a european and I just like the classic mantis look.

But I also LOVE exotics like hymenopus and idolomantis.

Ya but choeradodis isn't in culture and is completely different.

Hmm I guess when they are nymphs sorta but adults not really

Its hard to choose but I choose Hierodula. There are so many others!

Chinese here, would love to get some Europeans going as well. Second I think are the budwings.

Europeans are easy to breed if you ever get some. You also get lots of ooths. Right now I have 4!

How many females? And I breed them to but usually I only get 2 Ooths per female. Which isn't many, some species can have up and around 10 Ooths

I got 4 from 1 female! I also had another female but I gave her ooths to my neighbors for their garden.

Definitely ghosts. They are so cute and have such personalities. But there are so many great species out there! I also like Iris oratoria. They are so spunky!

I like the group of the flower mantis and the genera Deroplatys

I'm quite fond of Blepharopsis mendica and Cilnia humeralis.

They don't need to be kept humid and they're quite hardy if not kept in an environment with a lot of moisture. They also have great appetites and live for a good while.

I can only dream of getting a cilnia humeralis lol.. I've been trying for a few years, just ask Rebecca
