depends on the species and how long the ooth takes originally to hatch and if it goes over a week of the original date or more then its ok to chuck the ooth and work with other things!

I always give them a month over what they should be, last month I stuck one away thinking it would not hatch and then weeks later had to pull babies out of the zip lock. One week is no wheres long enough.
