I came home today to find a nice surprise. My male Idolo molted to adulthood. Yippi!!! But he is white; not green. Is this normal?

Give him a week or so and he will turn green. This happens with most empusidea. some do it to more degree than others. For instance Idolos and blephs have a drastic change from white to green while empusa's may only change from a hint of green to green and pink while gongys do not change at all.

He is brown. <_< And he will probably change. I think this is unusual.
I think it would be more unuasual to see one molt into full color. But as far as i know they all come out white or light tan, and the greens and purples develop over then next few days. And congrats Mvalnez. Do you have a girly too?

And after they colored in. It only took mine about 3-5 days to get most of the color

What do you have in mind?
if mine makes it to adult and yours is still alive either i will send u her to mate or u send me him so i can mate them and we will split ooths, of course i would get the mated gal back and u get the guy back and we will split ooths she lays 50/50 or if she only lays 1 ooth we split any nymphs from it 50/50

By the time your female molts and is 3 weeks adult, this guy will be a old geezer, Lol. But hey there's always hope?
how long do males live? u may be right, she barely eats :(

Wow. A week? ok.

Thanks
Yeah, ALL Idolo are beige when they molt to adult, there's no color for a few day's then in about 7-9 days he will be very vivid in color, I have a extra 1.5 week adult female that should work perfect as far as the time table for mating, her wings are straight but not 100% tight to her body, the tips are 1/2 inch or so away from her abdomen, but she's perfect beside that, just PM me if your interested?

Males live 45-65 days on average, depending on their stamina and how you keep them, at the latter mark they just don't want to do much, 2-4 weeks is prime for mating.
