I have fifteen new 1st Instars! So, my second ooth is hatching, or has hatched! I have most of them separated out into cups already. They all look identical to the first batch, which is right as all of the females that were placed in the terrarium were of the same species. They hatched yesterday with the very first one the day before. I'm sure that I'm still dealing with Iris Oratoria due to the pic of a female that was given to me via a link which showed one with threat display and I confirmed it through various other sites. So I now have ten 2nd Instars and fifteen newly hatched 1st Instars. :D Wow, for someone who got into this on accident, I sure am into it with both feet! LOL And to think I threw the 3rd ooth away when I cleaned the terrarium out because I didn't know what it was. I have no idea why I left these other 2 alone and put them back in there. Another Power at work I guess. :p Here is a pic of the first ooth.

Congrats. Certainly looks like an Iris Oratoria ooth. Too bad you threw that 3rd ooth out!
I know huh? But then again, I would be going totally off my rocker if I had any more than what I've got. I wasn't prepared for any mantids, let alone 25 of them! LOL

Awesome rebound!

Keep em rolling any more ooth I'm sure members would be interested in don't scrap em :p

Congratz! And now we see why patience is a virtue, but that is some tough luck...poor thing may hatch in the garbage.
