Why Do all Mantises Jitter?

Hello. With all the mantises I have ever owned I have noticed that sometimes their raptorial arms will jitter almost like a spazzing out. Why do they do this sometimes?

I've always assumed it was just a normal reflex. It's pretty much normal in humans like a leg or arm twitch every once in a while.... But good question.

maybe a scared thing? Mine do it right when I walk in the room. I dunno I would love to know though.

Youre right! I think its a scared thing! Whenever i walk in the room too it happens.
