I found an adult Carolina mantis in the swimming pool, dead. I took him out and closely examined to notice that it's abdomen was still moving, and there were little larvae crawling out from it's anus. Then less than an hour later I found a nymph upside down on the underside of my umbrella. He moved to get on a stick and I put the stick in a box. He looks like a Chinese mantis, but he is brown on portions of his body like he is sick or something. I dunno what it's problem is, but I think it is going to die. It is very slow. I dunno how long this species takes to molt. I thought at first that maybe that was what is wrong... But I don't think it is. Any input?
