    What species?

I don't often encounter wild mantids, but I saw this one on the wall right outside of my front door as I was leaving for work. I love the wings on this little one. Anyone know which species?

12x12x18 Exo Terra terrarium, generic 5 gal. tank, miscellaneous items [In Florida; local pickup only]

Looking to clear out some space in my room so I'm here to get rid of a whack ton of things. I have: You can find pictures of when I had the 12x12x18 terrarium set up here: http://mantidforum.net/forums/index.php?/topic/36189-just-got-a-12x12x18-exo-terra-mini-tall/ Looking to get rid of...

    Bug bite?

So I've had my fair share of mosquito bites and bee stings and whatnot, but I woke up this morning to a weird pain on my thigh. The best way I can explain the pain is that it feels like when you touch your bruise, but that's how it feels all day long even when I'm not even touching it. I'm not...

Anyone have experience with saltwater aquariums?

I've been wanting a saltwater aquarium for the longest time, but my gf keeps trying to dissuade me because it's expensive to maintain one. I'm curious, how much would it cost to get a small aquarium going? I'm going to say maybe a 10-15 gallon tank. What about a smaller 5 gallon tank, or the...

    Just got a 12x12x18 Exo-Terra Mini-Tall!

UPDATE :D For the most part, the terrarium is complete. Now, I just need to look for some plants to completely finish this terrarium. I've been mostly interested in neoregelias, but I want some variety, so I'm still in the search. I added sheet moss all over just to add some color for the...

    Just got a 12x12x18 Exo-Terra Mini-Tall!

Cork flats have been laid in place, Great Stuff foam has been applied and the excess has been shaven off to provide a better surface for silicone adhesion. Siliconing coco fiber to the background will be for another day. I have a brick of Exo-Terra Plantation Soil (coco fiber) that I have to...

Bought an adult male Tenodera sinensis from Ethan. I just received him in the mail today. Packaging is great; the mantis arrived safe. Only minor issue is that the mantis had a tarsa and a good amount of his tibia missing on one of his rear legs. This wasn't mentioned in the ad or the PM. The...

    Just got a 12x12x18 Exo-Terra Mini-Tall!

I was planning on purchasing a nano-tall (8x8x12) not too long ago, but I saw my friend selling this terrarium on his Facebook for the same price as a nano/tall, so I couldn't help but snag up on this deal. He bought it online and the terrarium turned out to be too small for him. He didn't want...

    Ways to divide kritter keepers?

I'd recommend a divider that is not see-through. If they are able to see each other, they will continually try to attack each other, but it won't work since there is a divider that is separating them, and it'll just stress them out. "I'M ATTACKING YOU, BUT WHY WON'T YOU DIE?!?!"

    Blue bottle spikes gone bad?

The non-pupated ones are a creamy white color, while the pupated ones are brown/reddish brown/dark brown/etc. Then there are these guys; non-pupated with grayish tints, some are completely black (dark brown under light). Not sure whether these spikes are pupating or have just gone bad. I give...
