I really enjoy that experience, I might not be as good as you with mantis but the way it fly around the house, I think it was a male. I keep my window open just in case it come back, but I doubt it as summer season is at its end here, they sadly don't live for a year here, at first frosty night...

Thanks Cosby, The window and the screen was open, only close when I went to sleep. It went out a couple of time but came back in, never seen one doing that. Even one day it took a flight inside and landed on me, so I went to work with it on my arm. I am a truck driver, it could got out anytime...
