    Pretty upset over this

I don't see what the problem is here. Hatching ooths and feeding off at L1 would seem fine to do for baby chams, as an occasional treat, variety is the key with many pets. There's not a lot of labor involed with it considering you keep the ooth in a container at room temp and mist is twice a...

    Alternate to fruit flies?

If you can afford to spend around 30-50 dollars for a good black light, you can set one up a night, hung over and infront of a white sheet suspended in the air. I don't own one, but I've using these techniques before with amazing success attracting anything from dragon flies, moths, cockroaches...

    Where to find Queen Ants

It's pretty important to state where you live and what ants you're dealing with, lol. You can give a brief description to help ID the species. Digging for queens is a very tiresome and poor way of finding queens, it's only best to do so when you've found the evidence of a queen having dug her...

    Alternate to fruit flies?

Are you not able to get fruit flies? (D. melanogaster, hydei, etc.) Technically the ones we use aren't really fruit flies, they don't touch living fruit and only feed off the yeast that is produced from rotting fruit while the larvae eat the micro organisms and sugar growing within.

Combination the two different fruit flies?

The Melanogaster would probably out compete the slow to breed hydei.

Hah, I've been bitten by a few colubrids. Not bad, feels like a quick scrape of the rough side of velcro and lo' and behold you're bleeding. I did have a king snake that got me inbetween the fingers and THAT hurt. A python I'm sure is a different story. I've only held ball pythons and a few...

Close call about the cottonmouth, did you know it was venemous? I was walking around the many state parks here in Florida and nearly trampled on a 5' eastern diamond back, got about 2 feet from it, within striking range, and it didn't even rattle. It just stared at me and I was about 45 minutes...

    Blue Bottle Food Question

When I had blue bottles a drop of honey in the middle of a bottle cap worked perfectly fine for me. Just make sure you don't overcrowd the flies when feeding honey or else they get stuck in it and smear it around everywhere. As far as the cricket feed, I doubt it would do any harm but I'm not...

How big do they get....those aren't adults are they?

    NO MORE CRICKETS!

Mine is the same, still doubt they would do much at all. I live in Florida too, was pretty dang hard finding roaches here.

    NO MORE CRICKETS!

I've had my dubias fare fine without a heat source at room temp. (76 degrees) However, they did not breed well, and any lower I would expect no breeding at all. I also did a few tests over the winter last year, their mortality rate SIGNIFICANTLY increased at 70 and below. Any of the gravid...

    Ant farm

PMed you. You're very lucky to have Atta nearby, I'm sure it's every ant hobbyist's dream ant...one day! As far as fungus growers, here in Florida we have some, Cyphomyrmex are the most prevelent but are small and inconspicuous, as well as the larger Trachymyrmex septentrionalis which are very...

Some macro pics of small L1 mantis

Holy cr*p, look at the width of those raptorials! THOSE guys should be the ones called wide-armed mantids!

Really? lol, there's plenty. Mostly in the wooded areas, often under bark of fallen pine trees. I can say that I've probably been bitten by mosquitos around 10,000+ times. Pretty average when you're outside all the time. You have ungodly luck to get a single mosquito bite. :P

    mating Creos

I wanted creos, but I couldn't find anybody selling them in 2 weeks despite how easy it seems to breed them. :(

Very great and generous seller, got some healthy ghosts the other day, along with a bunch of fruit flies, containers, yeast, and a neat little gift. Nice communication too, thanks!
