    Boy Troubles [Awkwardness Ensues]

He settled down after a couple of weeks. :) Sadly though, Mandy passed away last week due to natural causes. It was a shame and I do miss my little guy. But I'm glad to say he's had a great life, his own little bug adventures (once escaped and was missing for three days!) I'm sure he's well...

Looking to buy Mantids (UK please!)

Hello! :) I'm looking to buy one of any of these three mantid species: Sphodromantis sp (Blue Flash) Prohierodula picta Hierodula majuscula (Australian King Mantis) I can't take on an ooth due to the fact I only have one tank to accomidate the mantid in. So I'm hoping for a young immature...

    Boy Troubles [Awkwardness Ensues]

I understand whole-heartedly how funny and possibly difficult this thread's gonna be to take seriously, but after the first few times, I started to get concerned and, well... slightly annoyed by it... My male mantis has been blatantly expressing his want to reproduce everytime he's taken out...

    Black tipped foot

Hello. I've just taken my mantis Mandy out for the first time in a couple of days, and I've noticed the tip of his left front leg(or arm) seems to be black. It's only the foot area, though. So far it also seems to be unresponsive and unable to grip things, if I hold it gently with my fingers...

    Concerned!

Okay, this is slightly embarrassing to say, but as I last handled her I had a good close look at the spot on her eye and discovered it was just a bit of dirt she possibly couldn't reach to clean! So after a careful moment with a small bit of tissue I've managed to brush it off and she's good and...

    Concerned!

Aha, fantastic! I'm really glad to hear it's nothing to be especially worried about. Nethertheless I'll continue to keep a good eye on it to insure it's nothing serious and doesn't get bigger. Thank you! And by your request, I've introduced myself here &gt...

    Hello!

Hello! My name is Vee, and I was asked to introduce myself and my mantis, so here we are! I'm a first time mantis owner, starting with a young (assumed) female African Mantis. Originally I had intended to give her an alienistic name to match her rather alien looking appearance, but by my dad's...

    Concerned!

Hello! Just last week I've picked up a young African Praying Mantis from a local pet store. So far all has been well. Just the day before yesterday however, I had noticed a black dot that had formed at the bottom of her eye. Now I understand mantis' do have "pupils"(as I like to call them)...
