She isint injured in any way i just like to be a little involved lol. I found her in my backyard with full grown wings. Its been about 3 weeks so far. She hasnt molted since i got her either so im not sure if that means shes old or not. I tried hand feeding her honey in the way you described too...
Im having trouble feeding my wild caught stagmo. She eats fine in her housing but avoids her normal moths when i try to hand feed her. You guys got any tips on handfeeding wild matids?
I dont see anything like hanging out of her but im not really sure.. Its just spread apart still like it was when they were mating and it hasent closed back up. Would i be able to see if his junk was still in there? if it is what should i do?
My mantids were seperated abruptly when the houseing got knocked over. They were still mating when it was nocked over and the male flew away suddenly. Her "vagina" is still seperated. Idk what to do. Is she in pain? Will she live? Dont know if it matters but they were hooked together for about 8...
maybe you could apply honey to this paste substance? my mantis seems to eat honey off a tooth pick. so if you add a kind of "honey scent" to it it might work hand feeding it. or maybe banana flavored substance enriched with protiens and vitamins???
Does anyone know how i can identify local mantis spiceis in my area. Ive seen a couple diffrent kinds in my back yard but cant find any pictures of them online that match. Theres a pic of one i kept on my profile if anyone can identify it.
i used a fruit punch 2 gallon container. i cut the top off and glued a table mat for traction. i also cut a hole in the front and put some mat over it for easy viewing and misting
