Murderous Ants killed nymph iris oratorias! Help!

I put all my fruit fly containers on a platform covered with diatomaceous earth to keep mites from getting into my cultures and have used diatomaceous earth to kill ants as well. It also hurts lizards and other invertebrates, so I do use it sparingly. However, in the Monsoon season I use a lot...

    Empusa pennata

Interesting. I have heard of some species requiring a diapause, though I have no idea how this would be done in captive-bred populations. So in captivity, is there a specific instar that you would need to diapause them at, or just when you notice them begin to slow down?

    L6 male ghost mantis

Really sorry to hear about your loss Dineh. Hmm. Never had problems with cannibalism in this species so far, though it is always possible. I packed flies in all the time and had them separated by gender until they were adults.

    P. wahlbergii nymph, L1

Wow! Great pictures Papilio! With pictures that sharp you can probably determine gender by L3! There is no way I could see that much detail with my own eyes.

    Outdoor Mantis Enclosure?

Here is my opinion: Type of plants (various sized bushes and shrubbery that flower at different times to keep insects there OR to attract additional insects with the ability to increase screen sizes over time). Shading is a real issue. Though people may believe that mantises can take the heat...

    Help ID-ing Ooths from Ebay

Hey there Agent A, I have a dozen limbata ooths of different colors and sizes and none of them look like that. I need to go let some more of my limbata L2s go soon (this is their native territory). I'm running out of little FFs for them! There are some good businesses with dense landscaping...
