Yes. I went out last fall and collected some tall grass. They loved it! I didnt need a cage for them. The tall grass was home to them. They felt safe in it so they didnt wander.

Ive never heard that suggested before. I did it once to help one of my girls get bred. The wings were so wonky the male couldnt position right. I dont know if it hurts them or not, like clipping the wings on a bird.

Please! Never leave crickets alone in your mantis cages longer than 20 minutes! You can find a partly eaten mantis and happy well fed cricket awhile later.
