    Hierodula Membranacea or Sphodromantis lineola

hmm I kinda like the asian just a bit more because he's more of a bright green than the african. What do you think of a dead leaf mantis? I think these are a bit smaller but still pretty big, I don't know if they are active hunters though.

    Egg bound?

yeah I don't get that either, most mantids only last a year. Don't you mean 8 weeks instead of months?

    Carolina Mantis

So jealous you guys have these walking around your house. The closest place they have these for me is South France and that's about 1000 km away from here lmao xD

    Question

Imo I don't think so, even if the 2 meet, a grasshopper would never try to attack a millipede, the only thing that could happen is the grasshopper stressing because he will sometimes meet this giant.

    Hierodula Membranacea or Sphodromantis lineola

What are the differences, why should I keep 1 or the other. I'm looking to buy a big active mantis, if you have other recommendations I will gladly look into them.

    Egg bound?

ehm, from what I've heard, egg bound mantids always die? I don't think she's egg bound tbh..

    Mantids disapearing

Yeah but I checked like my entire terrarium for any possible place for them to be hidden in. I swear the hole I saw is so tiny, I couldn't even fit my pinky in there. I still don't get how they could have gotten in there. Anyway, I'm glad I got at least one back, maybe the 2nd comes out also, I...

    Mantids disapearing

Well then, after 5!!! days, 1 of them came out from under moss that was behind an orchid. I have literally no clue as to how she got behind that since there is like a 0.3cm opening and they are already pretty big L6. What a relief, but also a shock when I saw her crawling out from under the...

    Egg bound?

I've heard sticks with a thickness of a pencil at a 45° degree angle are the best way to make them lay eggs on it. Hope this helps :)

    culturing Pseudocreobotra wahlbergii

Hi I was wondering if it was possible to keep several Pseudocreobotra wahlbergii together in one enclosure, I couldn't find any correct data concerning them. One site says they can't be put together, while others say they can without cannibalism if there is enough food. Was hoping for a more...

    From Montana

Welcome! And yes, I can confirm, you can't stop at 1 species. I started out with the amazing Phyllocrania Paradoxa and I absolutely love them, but I still want another 2-3 species to just experience different behaviors. They are such interesting little insects with such different personalities...

    Mantids disapearing

Yeah that's what I thought so too, but seriously, there isn't a single spot I haven't checked. They are currently in L6 and they haven't moved spots since last night, they are all there except 1..

    Mantids disapearing

Hi, I started out with 6 ghosts, all well fed, but over the last 4 days, 2 of them have gone missing in a 20*20*30 terra. My other ghosts haven't eaten them as they don't get any fatter, I think the ones responsible are my springtails. Is this possible? I mean they are so tiny, would they ever...

    Sluggish and falling

the 4th leg is not a problem tbh, mine do it on occasion also if they don't find a good spot to put it.

    My Ghosts!

My dream would be to design natural terrariums as an actual job, don't know if it is possible, but with so much people nowadays having terrariums it is a possibility. Still learning a lot, I mean I'm content over what I already make, but still there's room for sooo much improvement.

    My Ghosts!

I used a mixture of tropical terrain and bark pieces. But I forgot to add a drain layer which would be better since the soil is often a bit wet. I mist usually once to twice a day to keep my mosses moist. It's more than they advise, but it just a little spraying, I don't do any big mistings...
