A Couple of Orchid Nymphs pics

I love your pic posts! Those orchids are so pretty. What setup do you use to get such beautiful photos?

    Indian Flower Mantis Nymphs

They look either presub or sub... I had a similar situation with a creobroter, sold as L4/L5 but actually sub. They were pictipennis, though!  Beautiful photos!

    Leptomentella care?

So, I recently ordered some nymphs and accidentally ordered a species I thought was a different species... oops.   But anyway, it's a leptomentella and it's the smallest mantis I've ever seen. Does anybody know how to take care of these? Thanks!! Edit: I realized I was spelling the...

    Best molting surfaces?

what are the absolute best surfaces for molting? My R. Basilis male fell from some textured paper towel and I want to make sure my other one doesn't do the same thing

    Why did my mantis die

It sounds like a digestive problem, or an infection of sorts. It could possibly be a bad feeder, but that seems extremely unlikely. It could also be constipation, which actually happened to a mantis of mine. The possibility of mold is out there, as well as the possibility of a bacterial...

    Mantids for intermediates

@Sarah K If you consider Gongies intermediate, what's a challenging species for you?     I do agree that thistles are intermediate with heat and flies, though!

I got my first exotic species

I'd definitely suggest a mesh lid or cloth, especially for ventilation purposes. It's better for gripping, too

    Excited!

I'm very excited because this coming week I'm going to get lots of new nymphs! I'm getting pnigomantis medioconstricta, orchid nymphs, and a species I've been waiting a long time for: wahlbergi. Wish me luck with all of these!  :D  Any care tips appreciated!

    Where's Cosbyart?

I guess the title is self-explanatory... Does anybody know if he's okay?

    My crazy ghosts!

He looks skinny because that was just after he molted, but he is all plump and happy now!

    My crazy ghosts!

Update: Hannibal has molted to adult! And Macbeth has learned that he can use his wings...

Im thinking about leaving the mantis commnity

@Jessie Well, I personally love your presence on the forum. I would love for you to stay, but if it's becoming toxic for you, then don't force yourself to stay. I also have anxiety and depression, and I understand how awful a critical community, especially one centered around something you love...

    Bad mismolt...

Well, my orchid mantis decided to molt on the side of her container and messed up. Her back is hunched, she's missing a leg, and she has trouble moving, but she's eating. She can hang upside down sorta. I'm going to wait and see if her situation improves or worsens. I'm really upset about it...

    Getting Impatient

He always comes back with the same copy-pasted message every time his incompetence gets exposed. Everybody tries to reach out in every way and every time he claims that they didn't. Watch out for this guy.

    Fresh Adult

@Kermit He's gorgeous, love his color! Yeah, they remind me of wise old men or emperors with their crowns and long antenna. Or a strange kind of dragon

    Fresh Adult

@Zeppy44 I don't know why, but it's awesome! Almost like owning two different, yet related, mantis species
