They could also be hungry. They do that when hungry sometimes.

    Using Blue Bottle Flies

@KyleB Personally I like to put like 3 weeks worth of pupa in a separate container in which I call the "hatching container." I put some food in there just so they survive longer so I don't have to feed them right away. Potatos or bananas work fine. When they hatch move the hatching container to...

When to Transition to a larger Enclosure?

It comes with metal mesh that shreds their feet. I believe all you need to do is hot glue the normal plastic mesh under the metal mesh.

    where to sell mantids?

they're basically the same as Carolinas and those don't require a diapause. So I doubt they do. They are in Texas.

    where to sell mantids?

I have 4 stagmomantis consprucata ooths and I am looking everywhere to find as many places to advertise on as possible. I have posted here in the for sale channel already. Does any one have some advice to sell a couple hundred nymphs fast enough so I don't end up with 200 nymphs that I cant...

    Stagmomantis Conspurcata

Im about to get a hatch of Stagmomantis Conspurcata soon! It is VERY similar to Carolina, but more rare. I personally haven't seen this specific genus for sale before, but its native to where I live so I was able to start breeding them. It is due to hatch this week but you wont pay until they...

Is this a good setup for my giant asian shield mantis?

you can't. Its a praying mantis its gonna go where it wants to go. Usually that's the top of the enclosure. It will likely molt on the top of the enclosure. I very rarely get molts that aren't on the top.

    My Mantis Adventure! :D

https://postimg.cc/4YgWqD0p Welp, here we are again! My friend found another female despite the 35 degree temps we had last week. Im pretty proud of this one. The male wasn't that easy on me this time and the female would not stand still. After much trial and error I managed to get them...

Is this a good setup for my giant asian shield mantis?

If you are planning on hand feeding that size should probably work. If your planning on letting them find their own food... Then that's too big.

Food for L4/5 Chinese Praying Mantids

that's the best way of doing it if u dont want flies escaping. Keep the pupae in the refrigerator if you dont want them to hatch. Dont put too many in, just put in 2 or 3 depending on how often ur planning on feeding.
