Looking for Phyllovates chlorophaea (Texas Unicorn, male)

Anyone have a texas unicorn adult male that recently molted? I will pay a fair price for it. My female just molted into a adult and I don't want to go another generation with no mated females. If you have any please, PM me.

    Help my mantis

Locusts are nasty little buggers. Did you just say you put a "some" locusts in there? Locusts are social at times and will gang up on an insect to eat them if there is only one available food source. I used to keep some when I was a kid. They ate anything, pretty much like crickets but are more...

    a dead one again.....

Also I noticed that the amount of water the mantids drink will affect their molt. If you mist the tank, then its good, but they will also drink alot of water than usual a couple of hours before the molt. When an insect/spider molts fluids build up right underneath their exoskeleton. That's why...

    a dead one again.....

It seems like you are the only one having this problem happening frequently. What species are they? I think 80% is a little too much. Mine do very well at 50-60% with a screen lid. I don't get what you mean when you say they "can't molt" do they get stuck you mean?

    Ootheca...

Any delicup will do. Use some paper towels to line the bottom. Mist the jar twice a week, not the directly on the ooth and wait. Make sure that the ooth hangs at least 3 inches from the ground so they won't smother into each other and come out all deformed.

    head turns completley black

For me it was. I skipped the fact that its head turned black. My mantids grew fungus on their throx, abdomen or legs. All I did was put them near a breezy window and change the lid to something more... airy. They fungus usually goes away in a couple of days. Bacteria is a similar...

    head turns completley black

I don't get why people freeze them. I had a mantis with a fungus infection, it even grew little white fur on itself. All I did is give it a lot on ventilation, rest and relaxation then it went away in like 4 days.

    Ant invasions

Well no one knows for sure if it's pharaoh ants. Spraying actually makes things worse as it only kills ants in the area sprayed. For every one ant that dies, there are 1000 to replace it. They'll just keep following their chemical trail. One way to kill them is do get a small dish, soak the...

You should wait for a bit. Probably till L3, you'll likely end up with only 10 or lower. I'm not saying that you can't have any higher than that. Good Luck!
