Update: Ok I squished a mealworms head and got one to take a whole one. And chopped another in half and got another baby to take it, the 3rd just ate a little and gave up. But at least theyve eaten. The Mystery mantis wont take anything yet, but hes so small im not sure what'll happen with...

Ok I just bought some mealwors, and they wont take em. Help, I dont want my new babies to starve and im in such a small town I cant get FF's without driving an hour and a half one way... Even then I not sure I could find them.

I just got 3 ghosts and some fly pupae, but dont know how to feed them to my babies. Should they be flying around, and if so how do I get them to hatch? Theyre all just pupae, some bigger some smaller. Im sure my babies are very hungry, theyve spent the last few days in transit getting to me...

This is my 1st spring since raising Mantids that I dont have an ooth waiting to hatch.. All of the babies I brought with me from California to Colorado last summer died before maturing or being mated. So needless to say Im almost to the point of desperation.. And I even have a nifty new tank...

Well it looks like my nifty new tank is going to be empty longer than planned...I only had one ooth lined up and the mother died so, no ooth for Nessa.. Anyone got any babies for sale? I only need a few, this way I can be sure at least one will make it to adult-hood. Let me know if you can...

LOL no way. I have such a weak stomach I cant even see or smell certain things without gagging. Many times Id be comforting a drunken friend and holding her hair back, and next thing you know id be getting sick too. I just couldnt eat a bug!! I guess if I was survivorman it'd be a different...

Im sorry to hear that. My first European Thor passed away and I actually cried. Shed was my favorite, I did everything for her. My mom told me I shouldnt raise them if I was going to get so attached. But I ignored that and just had to quit naming them, it kinda helped make it a little easier...

So Ive been on Mantids for the last few years and while I still want to raise them I'm thinking of raising some Butterflies this year. Anyone know where I can get some chrysalis, and anything besides the normal Monarch would be great!
