    I think staggered hatching is just normal, something that just sometimes happens with mantids. Interesting idea that the cold could have something to do with it, though I’ve never heard about anything like that.

    I love Orchids, Creobroter, and (recently) Orthodera from what I have kept. For what I wish to have, I’d say Caliris Elegans, Brancsikia Freyi, and Rhombomantis sp. “Candy” are some of my top favorites, though it’s always changing with me.

    For me, Popa Spurca was the first, and both got to adult even on a diet of nasty pet store crickets and dry dry dry conditions. Tougher than nails, those little twigs are!
