    Sarah K (PanTerra Pets)

I believe Panterapets.com should be the standard in this community. I've ordered from quite a few different companies already and she has been by far the best. Always ships quickly and packaged perfectly. I never understood the seemingly lack of customer service in this community. I don't know...

    Mantisplace

I unfortunately have not had a good experience ordering from mantisplace.com. Which is disheartening as I like their prices and and selection. I've ordered 3 different times and all times have been poorly handled. I always order the Friday or weekend before. I don't receive updates on when it...

    Limbata acting strange

Ok I think I solved the mystery. She laid an ooth today. The behavior was strange, but she seems good now

    Limbata acting strange

I just figured since she is native that her life cycle would be the same as all the others in the area. Which I thought they died around December. Maybe she is egg bound. Don't really know if I can do anything about that.  She is hanging from the screen now and looks normal, but that was really...

    Limbata acting strange

So I've had a wild caught Stagmomantis limbata for about a month or so. The mantis that got me in to mantids. About a week and a half ago I bred her with some wild caught males.  Today I was doing everyone's feedings. Then I noticed that she was walking around like she was drunk. Everytime she...

One new Mantis, then a dead one.

If that is the lid to your mantid tank I would like that top with mesh. They need a grippy texture to hang on to.

Good news! - Disabled mantis eating!

I don't think any living creature should be forced to live in that condition.

Good news! - Disabled mantis eating!

I would say to put her down as well. Even if she does eat and survive. I can't imagine what she'll look like after another molt. Sorry for your mantis

    Heating multiple enclosures

So I decided on getting the green house and running heating cables through the shelves. Hopefully it works out. Couldn't really find any other options.

    Heating multiple enclosures

So I have been thinking of ways to keep all my individual mantids warm. I thinking of getting a portable green house with those plastic covers. So I can heat all my deli cups and tanks or whatnot. Just can't decide on how to warm them. What do you guys use to keep all your mantids toasty...

    Keeping flies in rotation

Thank you all again. The fly trapper is a good option. Going to try and rotate pupae first. I'll contact Kermit if I have any issues. Thank you for offering to help me out too Kermit

    Keeping flies in rotation

Ok guys thanks for the help. I just reordered some flies. Going to try what you guys mentioned.  Say have you guys ever tried to catch flies from outside? Maybe some kind of live trap you can throw in the fridge when you want to feed.

    Orchid mantis feeding

Everything I've read said bugs like that are ok as a treat or whatever, but not as a staple. I did fruit flies, then house, flies, then will move up to bb flies. Getting down the routine is a little more difficult.

    Keeping flies in rotation

My problem is sometimes it takes days for them to hatch or they don't hatch in the amount I need. So for the mantids I have. I need 21 bb flies and about 70 house flies per week. I also want to keep shipping down. At usually a $10 shipping cost each time the flies can add up fast.  So I need...

    Keeping flies in rotation

So I've been doing a ton of research and can't come up with a definitive answer. I'm trying to find the best rotation for keeping bb and house flies as feeders.  I have an orchid, 2 budwings, 2 spiny flower, and a local stagmomantis limbata female. I ordered house fly and bb fly pupae. All are...

    Hello from California

So what I think I'm gonna try is let them hatch and keep food in there. I'm using yens special blend for fly food and gonna drop a few drops of water inside. One of the males I rescued is mating with my female already. The bb flies are starting to hatch I'm feeding all the males then going to...
