I would have to agree. Also agree with the insect poison avoidance. I usually keep them for 48 hours as a safe bet if I'm not 100% sure that they're native to my insecticide free yard :) MFS :euro:

I don't know really...I guess I've always done it since my first mantis lol...plus the sphagnum moss at the bottom makes it difficult for the littler ones to catch the pinheads...

Okay I've driven myself crazy for long enough... Does anyone have any suggestions on how to catch pinhead crickets? I have a large set of tweezers and a makeshift forcepts (it was an old test tube forcepts that I've bent to shape) but it still takes me so long to catch the darn things. And...

Okay, perhaps this has been posted before and if so, just direct me to the right thread...but my question is this... How does one know when the mantids are ready to breed? I'm assuming when they're adults but I want to know cause I don't want any of my smaller males to become Thor's lunch...
