    Getting a home for my first mantid

    I use sphagnum moss.Its a real moss,its alive! After a couple weeks I have black beetles and moths that just pop up! The nutrients in the moss creates its own food.so I rarely have to buy food.the moss is in all of my enclosures for All my mantises,especially the ghost,violin and orchid all love...

    June Bugs for dinner or no?

    My friends giant Asian went at it with a rhino beetle.both were very strong but the mantis killed it! It took a while for he mantis to get through the armor but once he did it was smooth sailing from there! Awesome fight though!

    Yes,just natural coloring,my giant african mantises lineola have the same thing.It is just the natural coloring so everything is fine.
