    Grapple_Apple

I ordered some isopods and springtails from @Grapple_Apple and everything came in perfect condition. He threw in a bit of moss in there as well! Everything was well packaged and he made sure to put a sign on the outside of the box to let the post office know it was a fragile package with live...

    Mantis bite

She might be thirsty and hungry. Usually when they nibble at the skin they're looking for any moisture that's on there. I guess once she realizes it's flesh, she'll try to eat it, lol. You can feed her moths or wild flies. Any wild bug is a risk though. The easiest mantis food I've kept is dubia...

    Question About Upcoming Molt

Can he hang at all? Even if it's just two legs it's enough. The tape might work but it sounds dangerous tbh. ?

    Mantis constipated?

@Matthewcmcginn If she hasn't laid an ootheca already, she might lay one soon. Give her plenty of sticks and places to crawl on and she'll choose the right spot.

    So disappointed

@Predatorhousepet @lovemymantisfriends I filed a claim with PayPal soon after the arrival but he claimed I had received my items and PayPal sided with him. Later I found tons of angry customers on his Facebook store site but he deleted and blocked people for negative feedback. He's been banned...

    So disappointed

@lovemymantisfriends Sadly, the mantids I ordered from this person arrived dead ?. I made the same mistake as you, I didn't do my research, I waited almost two months, and I got my package without a tracking number. I did this as a new mantis keeper, I was pretty devastated. I would highly...

    So disappointed

I know who this seller is, I would never buy or recommend buying from them. Try to get your money back asap, file a PayPal claim. There are excellent sellers out there, make sure to research very well before buying from anyone. Facebook mantis groups are less restrictive about discussions...

    They dont eat??

Females are ready in about three weeks. I feed mine to keep them really plump and just watch for calling.

    They dont eat??

I'm glad they molted ?. As you how often you should feed them, I usually feed my females until their abdomen is fairly full. The males tend to do well with small meals every 3 days or so. It might be a little late for you to mate them, since females will take a little while to mature, and males...

    They dont eat??

It sounds like they're getting ready to molt. Remove the flies and hopefully they molt within a few days ?.

L3 has dry "poop" on butt and will molt soon-HeLP

Aww, did he molt ok? I've had mantids have poop stuck on their butts before. I just use a damp cotton swap to gently wipe it off and increase their water intake. Hopefully your mantis molted fine ?.

    Rear leg encased in exuvia

If she can reach it, she'll remove it herself. She should be able to molt just fine if the leg isn't too crooked. I've had them molt fine with only two good legs to grip. If she is unable to reach it, just get a damp cotton swap and try wiping it off. Good luck ?.

    Scared of my mantis

There are species of mantids that tend to be more aggressive than others. The most aggressive I've kept was Giant African aka Sphodromantis lineola. I've noticed that females tend to get extra aggressive close to egg laying time, especially the bigger species. My lineola pinched my sweater one...

    Skin Art

Not yet ?, although I do enjoy drawing mantids or mantis hybrids ?.

Baking or microwaving sticks from outside

I throw my sticks in the freezer for a day or so, I haven't had any problems yet ?.

Flying with mantids--can I bring them in my carry-on or put them in my checked bag, or do I need to ship them home?

Ship them home through express, it's the easiest way. Add a heat pack if it's very cold where you live. You can place them in 16oz deli cups, glue a paper towel on the bottom, and spray it before placing the mantis in for shipping. Feed and water the mantis the day before shipping. Make sure you...

    Vomit?

Overeating will sometimes cause vomiting. It looks plump enough to be without food for two days. You can feed it again in two days and it'll probably eat ?. In the meantime, you can give it some raw honey on a toothpick, or mix raw honey with banana and give it to it as a treat. I mix my honey...
