He mismolted his final molt last night. We found him alive but severely mangled this morning and had to freezer him. I'm such a girl that I cried a little and made Ben do it. He was our first and only pet in DC until I got the Creos a few days ago.

i remember when i had 4 pseudocreos

all were male

only 1 made it to adult

by the time i got a female he was too old to mate and the night she died from a mismolt was the night he died of old age <_<

That sucks that he mis-molted on the last molt. One of my Stagmomantis limbata died because of issues with molting. Though with me, she stopped eating for 20 days and then died instead of molted. Then my second Stagmomantis limbata died of old age (though also being egg-bound could be the reason because she wounded her anus and reproductive organs and they hardened and blackened so she wasn't able to defecate, and I would figure a mantid would lay an ootheca before dying of old age). Sorry for your loss, having others to take their place helps.

Thanks everyone. We were so excited for him to be a grown up. I'm pretty sure he fell from the top of his enclosure and couldn't get back up. His wings and limbs were twisted.

He was our buddy so we are going to burry him by the fence.

I'm sorry to hear about that. Same thing happened to one of mine last year. It's so sad when they die, especially when it's a mismolt. I've had my fair share of mismolts, believe me...

Robin, that is so kind of you. We just got three baby creos and in our tiny apartment they max us out on enclosure space. They are super cute and keeping us occupied.

Now I know even more how you felt!!! I had to put my dear and special Martha in the freeze. I cried and cried for hours before and after. I told her I love her. I cant go near the freezer door yet. I felt like a monster leaving her in there.
