Building my 1st vivarium

After seeing dmina's amazing vivariums, I was inspired to do the same for my orchid and budwing mantids. I was discussing plant choice with dmina, and we wern't sure if there were specific plants that were beneficial for a mantis or not. I'd also hate to go and pick some plants up and have it harm the mantis. My apologies if a similar post has already been made about this, I may have just overlooked it. Feel free to throw in any other info about creating vivariums you think is important too.

No problems, I've seen several photos here on the forum of mantids all over them (of course I can't seem to find them now lol). Here is what Peter said about mantids and plants..

I've never heard of any plants that harm mantises...maybe a venus flytrap

. I would guess plants that attract bugs (food) would make the mantises hang around longer!
