Turtle is a cutie! By the way, aside from keeping communal mantids in your larger terrarium, another option that requires some handiwork is to split it into two halves with a divider. This does require some care though to ensure that there is no way they can squeeze through to the other side, and apparently ensuring that they can't see each other's shadows through the divider is also worth considering to reduce stress on them.
I bought him for €35, so he's really not that expensive, I'm guessing he's about half a year old. I had a friend who keeps snakes and he told me he should be between half a year and 1 year old. He's really curious and likes to crawl on my hand. The enclosure I have is only temporary since I didn't have that much time to prepare everything. (it was kind of an impulse buy, so I bought everything that was absolutely necessary for him)
Thank you! ^^ and yeah I've thought of that also, but that is indeed quite the work. I'm not that good in working with glass and stuff though, still learning a lot about building stuff.
Haha who doesn't love the good old impulse buy. I heard they can be kept in tubs quite well, but knowing your other posts I'm sure you're gonna want to keep him in something decorative. Not a bad price at all. I'll have to find some good breeders in the US. They enclosure looks ??Btw
Thought I'd update u now that the Terra is almost complete, took a good 2 weeks to finish since I didn't buy all the products at once. Probably a few 6 hours of work in total, but really glad about the result. I just need to put 1-2 plants in there, thinking about an orchid or something..
In regards to the process, the white stuff is isolation foam in which I placed some bark pieces. Then I used silicon glue to smear the white stuff and pour dirt on it to which it sticked (important, use 100% silicone or your animals will get poisoned). I continued to do so until all the white stuff was covered. I'll leave some videos down below from people that used this method and give good tutorials in case someone is interested.
@SpaceWolf Oh wow it’s looking amazing! Glad to see you back; you’ve disappeared for a while. How are you doing?What are you going to be putting in the terra? Sorry it’s been a while since I’ve been on this thread. Anyways it seems like a really fun project. Just wish I had the time to do one.
yeah had to do lots of school work and stuff, didn't really have much time left, otherwise doing fine ^^, how about you? And this one is going to be for my snake ^^ it's a 80/40/40 terra, still a bit big now.
