is this a gonatista grisea nymph??

Get me some! ;)

It might be, but my bark mantids of a different species held themselves much closer to the ground.

Posting to find out the answer.

i pmd him and his response was

"I'll be pulling them out over the next few days, but as far as I'm concerned they're all yours. Lets keep in touch"

if i get some i can take better pics and figure it out for us all!!!

Andrew would know for sure, but that high of a hatch rate(hundreds) doesn't sound like grisea to me?
he didnt say there was an ooth, it's possible there were a bunch on the wood

his count is likely exaduratted but he said he will do a head count tomorrow and will send them to me in exchange for some axolotl eggs, i just need a male axolotl... :ninja:

Yup those are grisea! When they are young like that they especially hold themselves that high because they don't have the whole bark thing down yet....becareful A , if this guy doesnt know a thing about them and just put them in a tank, then becareful of how he might pack them....and I had a medium amount of experience with them and out of 30, four made it (two molted to L2 already) ...but I now know my mistakes and have made alterations....and the older nymphs are doing great! The highest hatch is ~100 nymhps (normal is ~50).....but this is from a normal-larger sized ooth....the ooths that the WC female laid were really small... thus the 30 ct nymph hatch....

Where does this frog person live? In FL?

he lives in new york but idk where he got the bark from

how should he ship them??

Yeah mixing stock = stonger individuals ;) all mine are WC...Nick, have you had any exp with them? (Back when they used to be in culture)

Yes they are. Like Andrew said, they stand like that when they are young.

After their first molt, my couple are both flat and harder to spot..

here is my gonatista list so far

1: andrewnisip

2: mime454

3: likebugs

4: yen_saw

5: rick

6: danny

anyone else interested?? idk how many i will get but the first 2 peeps on the list DEFFO get some this time around, the others might need to wait till next gen if there aren't as many as originally estimated

I am interested but I think waiting until the next gen when I am more experienced and there is more information about this species is a better decision.
