My friend finds these in California.

Oh! I wanna play!

I'm gonna guess it's an Oxyoposis Gracilis, also known as the South American Green Mantis. Females reach 3” in length, and males reach about 1-1/2” in length.

Cute nails btw! Is that little piggies? :p

 
...and I'm also gonna guess this one is a boy.

This is my first time actually posting a guess (of identification or gender) online so be kind if I'm wrong please!

 
Ok, guys, I'm the one that found that mantis. That's my girlfriend holding it, her nail polish was just wearing off. And that one is a female. laid two viable ooths for me after I caught it.

 
I would guess that that is Mediterranean mantis - does it have dark eye-like spots on the wings?

I doubt it is S. Limbata (lime green/clear speckled wings) and definitely not californica (brown wings).
