So I tried some different things with lighting and got some very cool results.

Never thought my camera had this sort of zoom! Anyways I'm making a thread for each instar of my Chinese.

These shots are of one of my L2. His legs seem quite green , does anyone know if this will be a green Chinese?

( Regardless I think the lad's rather cute don't you? )

Nice shots! :) I have had a few green Chinese mantids change to different shades of brown after they molt. I guess you will have to wait and see. ;)

So cute! I wish my ooth would HATCH already. <_<

From my experience with them if one or both of the parents are green you will get some green ones, but if both parents are brown then well you will more than likely get all brown, and they do mostly start green then turn brown through out their molts. But this is not etched in stone(=

I think I may revisit this species again. The Chinese are like a first love for me.. can't get them off of my mind no matter how long I've been away from them. ;)
