Yah, pretty much as the title suggests....I didn't do that. Must have jarred the lid loose while feeding one of the other cages, or something.

Suffice to say, my H. mulitspina ooth hatched today while we were shopping.

The ooth is about the size of a cherry, I guess....but, man, they must be packed in there like a clown car!

I would say between 200 and 250 nymphs hatched ( B) )...about HALF of which were all over the mantis area...and beginning to spread through the rest of the living room.

My daughters and I had quite the time rounding them all up. No doubt a few must have escaped our notice, and are still roaming free in the house.

Just hope one doesn't wind up on my wife's breakfast, or anything....if that happens, I won't live out the day!!

 I thought it was bad the first time I opened the ooth container to separate some Chinese nymphs. They overflowed right up and out. At least I was outdoors. There were stray nymphs on me and in my hair, on my husband, on my daughter, and somehow in the house later.

Post in error. I was trying to comment about the bookmark, but once again I was typing and not reading...

I was so nervous about the stray nymphs on me, possibly getting squished every time I moved. I kept asking my husband and daughter; "Are there any still on me?" I was afraid to sit down. I didn't want to accidentally kill any of the babies.

I know what you mean! I was so careful....even my kids (6 and 3) were so careful....I think we had two casualties.

That's not bad, especially working with a 3 year old!

My kids rock. B)
