well i have an adult female and a green adult male i received from peter.

im really trying to get them to mate, but the male is very interested in running around and flying to my tan curtains. lol

he approached her from the front and as soon as she caught he he ran away. he doesnt seem interested at all...

any help? i read the breeding sticky, im guessing it just needs time?

thanks, yea i read that already, but i missed 1 step so i am going to retry in a week or so. thanks again for all the help!

my favorite pic of her!

i just made it warmer in the room, and i also put their cages closer...it looked to me like the female was VERY interested in mating, she actually approached him at first, then turned away, and i then had to put the male in her direction... once locked on he started, and she didnt get shocked at all, she accepted him on her, no crickets or bait.

really excited for the new babies to come!

awsome! do you know how many or maybe how long it takes? also, do you think you can pm me what to do with ooths? i read the sticky about them, but im still confused...

ooths should go into fridge a few weeks after being layed. keep in fridge for at least a month then take them out. They take a long time to hatch after fridge time, so don't freak out if you don't see nymphs anytime soon. I had an ooth this year and it was taken out of the fridge april 1st and hatched 2 months later, that's 2 weeks longer than most chinese ooths.

Yeah they occur everywhere in the bay area. That's where I caught mine. So you can release them. And it varies on how long it takes for the ooth to be laid.

how long before the ooth is laid, anyone know? i out her in a smaller container, like 64oz or so, with some paper towel and a stick...is this enough? or should i put her in her regular 10 gallon cage w/ sticks paper towels, and a couple rocks.

i was affraid she would lay her ooth on the screen top, or in a corner of the glass...
