Plastic Canvas

I was looking for something to put in my 32 oz. deli cups to give my mantises something to climb on that can be easily cleaned. I found this plastic canvas in AC Moore and I think it will do the trick. A 10.5" X 13.5" sheet costs 60 cents (for a color, white was 50 cents) and can be cut to size to line cups/enclosures. I got 16 strips per sheet cut to the size I wanted. Since they're plastic the whole cup can be sterilized in a bleach and water solution and reused. You can also buy this stuff on eBay cheaply too. Thought I'd pass it along if anyone was interested.

Great idea. I do the same thing with fiberglass window screen. I like this though due to the color which is more natural.

I used the same stuff in my "Deluxe" Deli cup, works great!



I wouldn't use it for a species that doesn't have sticky feet though...
