This was actually an experiment, I wanted to see how badly a shield mantis could bite ( call me crazy if you want to haha). I just let her clamp down on me and then she released. I certainly did not think she would have drawn so much blood! This bite bled for 15 mins with pressure on it! I still have a scar to this day! She was such a beautiful mantis!Quick question... How did you remove her???? I never have had to... Guess it is a good question?...LOL
Awesome! The Rhombos hurt the most by far! Very gorgeous mantids though.I got my first bite the other day... It really blew my mind... it was an accident.. I know for sure.. it was a budwing.. and one I hold all the time.. I had just given her a little honey.. and she was wiping her mouth on me..so I thought.. then all the sudden..ouch! she bit me... I said owww.. and she immediately released.. but man.. It left a mark.. drew blood to the surface...but did not break the skin.. I will keep closer attention the next time.. lol
