from personal experience: rhombodera stalli, h. bipapilla, budwings, creobroter pictipennis and oxyopsis gracilis.

 
That genus hasn't much variation in aggressiveness lol, not much behavioral differences either. Stalli basalis valida most the differences are just slight shape size and coloration

more so when they're hungry. my female tried to bite my finger once.

my bipapilla girl was the most brutal though. she showed no mercy and tried to attack me on more than one occasion.

 
I have only been pinched and bitten 2 times. First time by my very old Rhombodera Stalli female, and today my Blepharopsis mendica female displayed and bit me lol. She calmed down when I gave her some honey :p

Lol did you provoke your Blepharopsis mendica to bite you?
 
What about the species Cilnia humeralis also known as wide armed mantis are they aggressive? They have huge forelegs :eek:

 
She just lunged and pinched. I was more startled then anything. Lydia, my R. Stalli held onto my finger, but didn't draw blood. I had to calmly try and get her off, yeah calmly... I wasn't calm I reacted by pulling back and she held on. She really wasn't mean, just old. Idk if Blephs are normally aggressive, my male is really laid back. I just went in to check on her and she is calling. Maybe that is why she was aggressive earlier.

How do you know when a female is calling lol? I'm still new to this hobby

I asked the very same question, I am new also. I usually check at night, when I have the red nighttime light on. The females bend their abdomen downwards over and over. Once you see it you will know immediately.

Oh I see I've never seen my female calling before :eek: sounds interesting. So how many species of mantis do you currently have?
