Zoe, I was only talking about doing this for people who are going to sell mantises here...more particularly, the expen$ive ones.I don't need your address or phone! ;)
What if in the future my mantids have babies (nothing expensive, I've got S carolina, M paykulli and T sinensis) and I wanna sell'em for like 50¢?

@Kamakiri: The "bio..." member is on the other side of the country and appears to be a victim of Villosa. I'm getting good at isolating these guys to city via IP now!

That's our buddy villosa again! I was trying to warn everyone...because a new guy would know NOT to pm ME!!!Peter, could you also check the IP on the 'bio...' member who was checking on villosa's feedback? I think that was him checking to see if any of us figured out where he is. I didn't respond because I was pretty sure it's the dirtbag.

This is criminal!!!This thread makes me go back and trace all the idolomantis distributed from my stock in early 2008. As there were close to 300 L2 idolomantis nymphs shipped out it took quite a while to check all the buyers but I was really hoping no one bought it from California; HOwever, to my horror  , Michael Kuo appear to buy 10 Idolomantis from me back in April 2008, and those photos might have been taken by him during that time. And when I checked my email again, he admited that he is Villosa from mantid forum from one of the email:blink:  So i have his paypal link, couple of email addresses, and residential address which I am not posting here as per Peter request. But I am willing to share this info to anyone who needs to nail this crook, providing he hasn't moved. I apologize for not sharing this info any earlier when he was wrecking havoc here on his previous idolomantis foam scam. I think i have his full name too.
Im going to PM you Chris

I later traded some roaches to Villosa for those Idolomantis, Yen. He ended up sending less on his side of the deal than agreed upon and promised to make it up to me in the future. Each time he posted sales on the forum after that I asked him when he was going to make good on his end of the prior deal with me. Always promises (and really good excuses)...always failure to make good. Then he disappeared, then resurfaced again with the foam ooths.

Unless you're trying to sell 200 at $0.50...I wouldn't worry about it.

But the reeaaaally sad thing here is that guys like this make it harder to sell for us honest folks.

Did anyone have a chance to check the IP on the bio9980 guy?

If you have the address , why dont you just post it? I will be in sacramento next week and wouldn't mind making an extra stop for you guys.

You know this is a great site! but it is bad for honorable breeders who want to sell and worry about trust ,if this continues to be a problem ,i would recomend a requirement to post a sell by makeing a small paypal payment to whoever maintains this site ,so that you can be confirmed as a legit breeder/trader most sellers have or should have a verified paypal account anyways , it would be a small inconvience but considering the hoops you have to go through to sell on ebay/paypal it is a small cost to pay to have a status of a confirmed breeder/trader on this forum,.....Paypal does have fraud protection that favors the buyer and not so much protects the seller, so all of you who paid with paypal please file a non-receipt or "not as described" claim, and get your money back,
You cannot force anyone to get a PayPal account. I won't, and I also insist on payment in advance. I don't care if anyone likes this conditions, in the end they want something from me and not vice versa. And as I usually only have the rarer species people will buy from me anyway at last, if they complain in the beginning or not. You can be scammed both ways (!) and the best way to avoid it is to not want every species at any time from anyone, but to check who he/she is and if he/she actually breeds mantids. And sometimes it is better to wait than to give one's money to the first come-along crawling out the www-mud.

Zoe, if/when that happens, I shall buy a batch from you and carry on so much about how great they are that folks will buy up the rest just to shut me up!

By now, you are known on here. One way to avoid most of the scammers is to only buy from someone who is already well known on the forum. It is nice if they have good feedback as well, but we all know that everyone has to start out with a blank slate.

Before you guys head out as a lynch mob with absolutely no evidence against Villosa, have you checked the time zone from which our current crook's IP apparently originates? Either the site is way off, or he is somewhere in far eastern Canada, one hour ahead of Ismart! Villosa rates, as should anyone in CA, one hour behind me.

Unlike Villosa, and very much like a professional crook, this one has done his business and continued to the next point of attack.
