Sorry for this stupid question and even more so if it's been asked already! I live in an old house and have nothing for a/c other than a portable one I use in different rooms. When I mist my mantis (and other insects), it dries so quickly, I assume it's safe to up the humidity levels a bit? I'm talking about the hot summer time. It gets so hot in the house, not to mention it's dry out here.

I use a portable warm air humidifier. I keep the humidity around 60 to 70 percent. But I am in Illinois where it is still cold out and the heater is still on.
