So I thought I had failed to mate my pretiosas. I never saw them connect and the female ended up eating of the males arms... (I forgot to feed her first, I am a newbie). The female did lay 2 ooths, one a normal size and another half sized one. I kept both just incase. The first one never hatched and I wasn't expecting the other to but it did and now I have a bunch of babies!!!

They are SO SMALL! I gave them some melanogaster fruit flies but they look too big for them to eat and they don't seem interested (maybe it is too early for them to eat). Do you think they will eventally eat the melanogasters or do I need to find some springtails??

Thanks

Yay!

I think I've heard that these little guys can handle hydei, too (the larger FF's). They seem to have really long legs (for their size), but itty bitty bodies...

I only have ony l1 nymph right now (waiting for more to hatch), so I'm using this one as a guinea pig to see what it can catch and eat from my "porch light special menu."

I've put in a wild FF (looks like one, anyway), and various sized smaller mosquito-thingies. I will have to see what's left in the cage today....that will tell me the size limit!

I don't know how on earth the L1's would be able to eat hydei. I was surprized that they could handle the mels! They are so cute and tiny though, I hope yours do well.
