Hello Mantidforum!

I'm very happy to have joined this group! My name is Bethany Miskiewicz, I'm an entomologist, and I live in Raleigh, NC. After losing my industry job in December 2015, I started a business called The Artsy Arthropod and have been working on it full time this year. I create unique shadowbox displays using real insects! So far things have been going quite well. I've noticed that praying mantises are very popular and tend to sell quickly, so I am interested in acquiring more specimens. The suppliers I have ordered from so far usually have a poor/small selection. If anyone has dead specimens they are willing to part with, please contact me. We can negotiate a fair price as I certainly don't expect them for free. I would also like to rear some specimens of my own for fun and for framing.

If anyone would like to check out my insect enterprise, here are some links:

Ooh, when my mantids die, if they're in good shape, i'll definitely be in contact! <3 Welcome to the forum!

Welcome! I checked out your Etsy, and I've got my eye on one of those carpenter bees, they are so cool looking! :)

Welcome!

I also took a peek at the etsy page, those are really nice looking. Ive got some deceased I've wanted to get framed like that.

Your etsy shop items are wonderful! Thanks for sharing your work. I'm always on the lookout for beetle specimens for my sister's collection. I prefer butterflies and mantids, living. ;)  Welcome!
