today ma female deroplatys dessicata died and I don't know why, problem is she was looking well today and she ate cricket but when I looked at her later she was dead.... :(

what could be the reason of her death?

I will try get another female last time because nothing happening to male, I don't know why two females had to die? if any one in uk could sell me a female of that species that would be great.

it happens, some may say its the cricket as crickets can harbour some nasties that can harm mantids, howver sometimes it just happens, if your keeping the male in the same conditions and he is doing well its probably some other factor (lack of ventilation can be a killer)

i had the same happen to my male dont worry about it to much- just part of the hobby im afraid,

may i ask where you got the 1st lot from? they seem to be a bit thin on the ground atm

ian battern at www.insectstore.com was the last i saw selling them online no idea f he still has some...

I kept both mantids in the same conditions, I think I just have bad luck with theese females I don't know why but I don't like that any way, when my male gonna get adult I gonna give him away to some one who has female, I not gonna buy another female as she may die with my bad luck.

I feed almost exclusively crickets and rarely have issues. Sometimes they just drop dead. I know that's not the answer you wanted but it's the truth and we don't know why it happens.
