Here is a video I found online of a mantis actually attacking a hummingbird!!!

The interesting thing about this thread is that it was still registering "0 views", even though I accessed it twice. Stealth mode?

Edit: How cool! I have discovered that if I view a post, however many times, it doesn't register on my "view" counter though apparently everyone else's does.. So if the poop hits the rotating blades on this one, I wasn't here!

I am a bird watcher and i was thinking "why is no one moving that mantis?!?" but i don't think he got any so that good......

 
I don't think that particular mantis was quite large enough to actually catch one. When I was a kid I recall large female chinese mantids hanging out on the feeder. They would often catch bees but I never saw them catch a hummingbird. I did see them strike. I'm sure they got one every now and then.
