Possibly, but some ant mimicking mantises do have ant-shaped heads. It also cleaned it's raptorials (assuming mantis) while I was watching.

As Krissim said, superworms are a safer alternative. The difference between to mealworms and superworms is that mealworms are North American and superworms are South American, hence they can't be refrigerated. I prefer superworms for the larger mantises over giant mealworms. Best of luck.

I have a larger one that I use for idolos. A smaller one would easily suit any of the medium species or even some of the larger ones. You could put some ghosts, Rhombos, or dead leafs in there. Best of luck.
