How do I fix his leg?

I'm having trouble logging in on computer and I don't see an option to upload one on the phone version of the site. It's a rear leg that has a bend above and below the elbow. Causing the one leg to point almost straight up into the air. I was able to add a pic with the edit feature.

How do I fix his leg?

I have a Chinese mantid with a deformed rear leg. He's getting ready for his adult molt and I want to fix his leg if possible. Do I tape him up to his lid? Snip the leg off at the bend and hope it grows enough back in the last molt? Or???? Any help is appreciated folks.

Is setting up a fruit fly culture hard?

I use this recipe with a couple tablespoons of oatmeal too. I would also like to add the cheaper the flakes the better. Make sure there is no added butter or flavorings.

My male praying mantis is barely eating?

Try a house fly or fruit flies. My mantids prefer flies.

You should have. I got mine 7 years ago for $140 and they are $300+ now. I should have gotten 2.

    Some of my guns

These are a few of my guns. I don't hunt but I do like to shoot. Top riffle is a 1988 Marlin model 60 .22 with ATI stock, Simons scope and mounts. This is a rare model with LSHO, 18 round tube and 22" barrel. Second is a 1972 Marlin model 65 .22 that is mostly stock. I did upgrade some of the...

    My Ootheca rattle

Both of them rattle. I have read they can dry up and go bad. I'm beginning to wonder. I really hate to cut it open to check and kills some babies if its good. I also don't want to waste money on FFs for the next year to discover they didn't ever hatch. Any other options?

    Ideal ootheca temprature?

3 weeks to 1 year to hatch. 80 degrees and over 40% RH seems to be the mark to shoot for from my online searches. I speak from reference and not from experience.

    My Ootheca rattle

My new eggs make a funny sound when they are turned over. I haven't been able to find anything on the internet about this so I'm asking here. A lot about rattling wings for the mantis in general but nothing Oothe related. One of them is a bit darker at the top then the rest of it is. Is that...

    Yay!

I have 2 Chinese Oothe hatching myself. I'm curious if your cases rattle when you turn them? Mine sound like they are full of sand or something that shifts and makes a rattling sound. I have had mine in a tank for a couple weeks now and have heard it can take from 3 weeks to an entire year.

    Ootheca lighting requirements

I currently have an indoor grow room with 80 F. temps and 50+ RH regularly. I have a ton of lighting but haven't seen much in the realm of lighting spectrum for a Mantis. I currently have my hatching box on a cloning heat pad and have one red 2700k 23w and one blue 6500k 23w CFL bulb in a...

    Hello from Oregon!

I have been looking for wild Oothes since I got mine in the mail and learned what to look for. No luck yet but I'm not done trying. Spring is almost here in the Willamette Valley. Buds in the trees and flowers popping up everywhere. Its a sunny 65 F. degrees here today.

    Newb building a hatching tank

Okay, so a side door it is. I plan a background picture of some kind over the back. I'm guessing center-ish and 5" x 5" maybe? I plan to secure the door with magnets and hinge it. Any feeder hole size/location recommendations? I have a 1" hole drilling bit I can use. Enlarging it with a...
